I’m not sure what planet Mark Figley lives on. In his March 22nd column regarding Tucker Carlson’s release of his “version” of the events of Jan. 6, Figley writes, “All told more than 40,000 hours of surveillance footage was recorded of the Jan. 6 protest. Why has most of it never been seen by the American public?”

My mother, Carol Snider, inspired my career by showing me how important it is to take on a job and run with it for 60 years with the City of Lima.

Wokeness was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2017. Woke was actually a Black movement watchword that originated in the early 20th century as a call for Black people around the world to “wake up” to racial oppression.

I want to congratulate and thank The Lima News for a wonderful article on pro-life Jefferson Award winner Joyce Buss. She is one who walks the walk and talks the talk for unborn children and their mothers, the poor, the dying and those in need. What a powerhouse of a lady!

Once conservatives succeeded in overturning Roe, they needed a new issue to rile up their base. The “woke” culture is their new baby.
