Letter: Mom’s 60 years of work was an inspiration

My mother, Carol Snider, inspired my career by showing me how important it is to take on a job and run with it for 60 years with the City of Lima.

She always showed passion and drive in everything she took on, big or small. Having a strong, driven, multi-talented woman in my life has shaped me in so many ways, and I am so grateful.

What I appreciate most about my mom is that she is a genuinely kind human being. She’s always there for me when I need a listening ear or advice when it comes to my personal life or professional career. She pushes me to succeed, elevates me to reach my goals and paints a vivid, tangible picture of success in my mind. Whether it be reviewing a recipe or items to buy at the grocery store, she’s always got my back.

My mom’s work anniversary is not only a milestone, but it also becomes an inspiration. There are emotions associated with my mom’s years of service. As such, it makes her feel valued and appreciated by other associates in the city. Her work anniversary, Feb. 1, was 60 years, and that deserves recognition. Thank you.
