A look at today’s editorial cartoons:

God has the last word. That’s why Donald Trump was in office. Put protection around the president. No weapons against Trump will prosper. In Jesus’s name, thank you, Lord. Protect the security guards who may lay their lives down for the presidents. A divided house won’t stand.

Political rot needs to be weeded out.

Voting 101: “How To Win An Election.” It means a lot to the candidate, win or lose. It means a lot to the voter, win or lose.

I came to America in 1971 from India, a young physician for extra training and learning. I fell in love with this country and decided to live here. I settled down in Lima in 1978. My family and I never felt discriminated because of our color or religion (Hindu). We loved Lima. This was home! We were loved and accepted by our community. An immigrant like the rest of America, of all colors and religions. This was our country. I registered as a Republican.

This is a response to three letters in the Aug. 21 issue. I would like to begin by saying the state of the views of the Republican Party in the U.S. has devolved into nothing more than a gang of win-at-any-cost disciples of lies.

It was my privilege while I served as Lima’s mayor to work with Sherrod Brown during his time as Ohio’s Secretary of State, as congressman and as Ohio’s U.S. senator. Throughout his career, he has been a tireless advocate for Ohio, for workers and the dignity of work, and for Ohio’s cities.

There was a letter in the paper Sept. 18 titled, “People should stop believing the lies,” by Sherri Eley.
