Letter: You can’t have it both ways

In the Feb. 8 issue of the The Lima News, Sam Shriver wrote an article regarding the proposed $15 minimus wage. Mr. Shriver discounts the concerns of local business owners because, according to Shriver, they have “held onto the conventional wisdom about the minimum wage from years ago.”

Shriver disagrees, so to push his personal agenda on the readers, Mr. Shriver cites a study that was conducted in 1993 (which is “years ago”). So Shriver is allowed to use information from years ago, but local business owners are not?

You can’t have it both ways. As a journalist, Shriver should know better.
