Letter: Norm Capps for the people

We all know that Allen County is an area that Republicans dominate and do very well in. There has been successes as well as failures during this period of dominance as comparisons with like counties will agree and prove. A diversity of opinions is always a more beneficial way of achieving desired results because of a broader range of ideas and perspectives leading to faster problem solving.

We all become wiser and different when we listen to those that come from an environment much different from our own and that is why I am strongly recommending voting for Norm Capps for county commissioner. His background provides an opportunity for our dive into that new perspective, an opportunity for all voices to be heard and recognized. Norm is a Vietnam veteran where he further learned the importance of working as a team and providing a service to his fellow man. He is a farmer, aunion pipe fitter, a township trustee, and a graduate of Lima Senior High School. Our friendship goes back to our high school days where the mixture of laughter, earnestness, thoughtfulness, and sincerity formed the bonds of who he is today.

It is for these reasons that I urge you to vote for this diversity of opinions and experience that Norman Capps will bring to the Allen County Commissioners Office. On November 3, 2020, I will be voting for Norman Capps because I believe everyone’s voice should be heard, so join me on that date for a new perspective.

Charles Thomas, Lima
