Letter: Do your job, Jim Jordan

We are in the 7th month of a deadly pandemic and the final months of a presidential election. Voting in November seems precarious and the need for the safest way to maintain our democracy should be of the highest concern for our representatives. But I have not heard a single word from Rep. Jim Jordan about protecting our sacred right to vote.

I have not heard a single word about Secretary of State LaRose’s reduction of ballot drop boxes and I haven’t heard a single word from Rep. Jordan about President Trump destroying the United States Postal Service. The same USPS that we depend on to deliver our absentee ballots, mortgage payments, utility payments, benefit checks, letter’s from friends and holiday cards from family.

Jordan’s selfish desire for he and Donald Trump to win at any cost is destroying our ability to meet our obligations and stay connected to our families and friends. I don’t know what he is doing, but I know what he should be doing. He should be raising his voice in support of the people of the Ohio 4th Congressional District, which also includes us in Oberlin.

I call on you to join me in demanding that Rep. Jim Jordan do his job, serve his constituents and protect the Constitution. Join me in calling him at his office in Lima (419) 663-1426 or in Washington DC (202) 225-2676 and demand that he work to save the Post Office.
