Letter: Messed up priorities

I’m assuming Clay Balyeat is a Republican after reading his letter to the Your View column in which he worried that Medicare for All would bring dire consequences for other local public services. But he needs to ask himself why we are one of the only two countries without some form of universal medical care. In a nutshell, other countries love it because it is cheaper for the consumer than insurance premiums, deductibles, or no insurance.

More spending money means businesses will have to grow to fulfill the desire to spend money on more than health care and shelter. It means taxpayers getting what they want and need instead of having the biggest war machine in the world so we can kill people around the world. The money is there; it’s the priorities that are messed up.
