Letter: Listen carefully: No new taxes

The voters have spoken: No new taxes.

I don’t care if you call it permissive tax or sales tax, it is still a tax.

Under the sale tax, $500,000 per year would have gone to roads and bridges, now under the permissive tax it would generate $750,000 per year.

If we said no to $500,000 per year, why would you think we would say yes to $750,000 per year.

You can say that the money would only go to roads and bridges, but what you’re not saying is that you will not divert money already earmarked for roads and bridges to other areas.
