Letter: Retired prosecutor backs Kohlrieser

As Allen County Prosecutor for 28 years, I write this letter to ask you to join me in voting for Terri Kohlrieser for judge of the Common Pleas Court in Allen County.

We are fortunate that a person of Terri’s caliber and experience has chosen to seek this office.

Terri’s academic accomplishments — graduating from the University of Toledo Magna Cum Laude (while working 40 hours a week) and Ohio Northern University College of Law with High Distinction — are not a stroke of luck. She is a hard-working, boot-strap woman who possesses a quick grasp of the law and a keen intellect.

As an attorney clerking in the 3rd District Court of Appeals, she researched and wrote opinions for the review of her supervising judge in both civil and criminal cases. This wealth of experience has prepared her well for the duties of a Common Pleas Judge.

Approximately 75 peercent of the cases in Common Pleas Court are criminal cases. As chief assistant prosecuting attorney for over a decade, Terri acquired a thorough knowledge of criminal law. She is not afraid to tackle complex and demanding cases, but she never forgets who she is fighting for — the victims of crime.

Terri Kohlrieser is by far the more experienced candidate in the race. As a judge, she will be fair and even-handed in administering justice and running her courtroom.

I am proud to endorse Terri Kohlrieser for judge of the Common Pleas Court. Please vote for her on May 8.
