Letter: Uncle gave life for country — now this!

I am writing to honor my uncle Robert Summers Jr who died and was buried in Belgium in 1944 fighting the Nazis. He left a wife and young son, giving his life to defeat one of the most evil ideologies in recent history.

Last week people carrying Nazi emblems were welcomed into a political demonstration that marched illegally on a college campus at night carrying torches—imitating Nazi activities in 1930s Germany. Some were even doing the Nazi salute.

Uncle Bob, I grieve that your legacy was tarnished last week in America for all the world to see. We need to come together as Americans to honor our dead who gave their lives to stop Nazis and speak out firmly and peacefully against Nazism in our nation.
