Many thanks to Lance Mihm of The Lima News for his Jan 23 article on our uncle, Les Dienstberger. In addition to Les’ legendary status during World War II as a member of the Chosin Few — he is a world class character.
He still plays a tuba in a Delphos pthe polka band called “The Village Idiots.”Actually all of my uncles on both sides of our family served at one time or another in the USMC. Uncle Les still makes it to his annual reunion of the Chosin Few, despite his young age of 87.
