Letter: Animal abuser walks free

Several years ago my daughter’s cat was set on fire and was burned down its back, lost half an ear and took several surgeries to heal. He managed to get home by coming about seven blocks. They found out who did it. He was brought to court but the trial was continued. He failed to appear. My daughter has seen him around town but the police nor the courts are interested in doing anything about this.

Good luck on finding the person who shot the cat with an arrow. Even if you find out, nothing will be done about it. We have a lot of sick people in this town.

The man that set the cat on fire did it in front of his 2-year-old child. What a message to send!
