Letter: Trump shouldn’t be eligible for clearance

As a veteran of the U.S Army from 1964 t0 1973 and 1977, I feel proud and honored to have served in the military district of Washington, D.C. in 1965 and ‘66, when Civil Rights was a big issue and President Lyndon Johnson was just getting us into the Vietnam War.

A lot of interest in security clearances was increased due to Cuba, Fidel Castro, Lee Harvey Oswald. the Soviet Union and soldiers being called up to serve in Vietnam. From what I have observed recently, candidate Donald Trump could no longer pass the requirements for a top-secret security clearance due to his behavior before, during and after the insurection that took place on Jan 6.

Plus, the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution very clearly states that he is not eligible to hold federal office again. Any further campaigning by him or for him is a waste of time and money. Thank you. God Bless America.
