Letter: We’ve heard promise about health care before

Donald Trump announced recently that great health care — “better than Obamacare” — will be a priority of his next administration. Sound familiar?

2015: “I will repeal Obamacare and replace it with something terrific.”

October of 2016: “Within my first 100 days I will repeal and replace Obamacare.”

January of 2017: “I am close to completing my health care plan; I want to provide insurance for everybody.”

March of 2017: “Health care is coming along great. We are talking to many groups, and it will end in a beautiful picture!”

March of 2017: “I want to have a great health care bill and plan. It will happen, and it won’t be in the very distant future.”

October of 2017: “Piece by piece we will now begin the process of giving America the great health care it deserves!”

April of 2020: “It will be on full display during the election as a much better and less expensive alternative to Obamacare!”

April of 2020: “We’re going to produce phenomenal health care… we’ll be announcing that in two months, maybe less.”

July of 2020: “We’re signing a health care plan within two weeks, a full and complete health care plan that the Supreme Court decision on DACA gave me the right to do.”

October of 2020: “You’ll have health care the likes of which you’ve never seen.”
