Letter: Heartbeat grateful for successful show

On behalf of the Heartbeat of Lima and Putnam County Board of Trustees, Staff, and Volunteers, we would like to thank the Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships and the community for their support of our annual charity car show. Proceeds from the car show on Aug. 4 benefit clients and families served by Heartbeat. Due to the generosity of sponsors, entrants, and attendees, the car show netted more than $21,000.

We had 227 classic cars and motorcycles registered at the event this year. We would like to congratulate all of the trophy winners. The Best of Show for 1949 or older vehicle was awarded to Steve Beemer for his 1936 Ford Coupe. The winner of the Best of Show in the 1950-2000 category was Dale Madaj with his 1968 Corvette. Craig Sletcher won Best of Show in the Low Rider category with his 1968 Impala and Richie Crouch’s 2015 Indian Chief was selected Best of Show in the motorcycle category.

A special thank you to our paid sponsors: M & W Construction, NAPA, Tom Hirt with Snap-On Tools, Top Mark Federal Credit Union, Von’s Diamonds, Huntington Bank, Buckeye Charter Services, Cleaves American Heating and Air Conditioning, Thermal Gard, Automotive Hardware Service, Indiana Auto Auction, CarFax, T & D Interiors, CS Concrete, Diller Furniture, Shawnee Self Storage, All Service Glass, Quality Fabrication and Welding, The Bridge Church, Park National Bank, K & M Tire, TSC Communications, and Cornerstone Church. We would also like to thank Robert Brunswick with Sizzle and Smoke and Pete’s Ice Cream for food donations.

Heartbeat is a non-profit organization that has been serving clients and families for the past 50 years. We rely solely on donations to operate our ministry. Special events, like the car show, enable us to continue to meet the growing needs in our service area. We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of our community. We look forward to seeing all of you at our next car show on Aug. 2, 2024.
