Letter: Still feeling effects of conviction

Hello. This letter is in response to editor David Trinko’s “Working Together as Family Has Real Value.” I admire his position and share the same view.

My issue is our community not thinking that deeply when showing up for jury duty. My dad was wrongly convicted for murder because no one cared for the truth about our family time and the value he brings to the Lima community. We’re deprived of his knowledge of business and firsthand experience, the same experience that helped others, without mentioning names, go from the streets and start legitimate businesses. He really cared for the people in our community and always looked to better it.

I pose a question: Would you rather have someone shown the right way of doing things and becoming law-abiding or be put in jail to satisfy someone else’s need for false closure? This saga is deeper than this space allows.
