Letter: Manchester should defend her positions

Our state representative for Allen County and parts of Auglaize County, Susan Manchester (R-Waynesfield), was given orders by State Sen. Matt Huffman (R-Lima) to convince all of the state senators to vote for the latest faux pas.

Firstly, Manchester shouldn’t be getting orders from a senator, and secondly, did she even read the proposed bill? The bill abuses our voting rights more than when Huffman et al gerrymandered extreme parts of Auglaize County in with Allen County.

This debacle of a House and Senate combined bill has four ex-governors and five ex-attorneys general of Ohio vehemently not supporting the required 60 percent yea votes to pass a state constitutional amendment. We find out now that this pressure is financially sponsored by an Illinois billionaire who spent $120 million on conservative agendas, including harboring the previous president. The GOP has a locked-down Ohio, and it’s putting its extreme agendas in place everywhere.

I am not making this up. I am trying not to belittle anyone. Basically I am regurgitating the bile I read in newspapers from around the state, and that is not good. When Ohio is known as one the most corrupt states in the union, it’s no wonder we get no commerce here. Lima had its name smeared in the three C’s, and it’s nearly irreparable.

Manchester, the Allen and Auglaize Democrat parties would like to meet with you ASAP. Please have a town hall meeting with us so we can ask you why you do not speak up against spending $20 million on an August election when six months ago it was abandoned because of only 10 percent voter turnout.
