Letter: Vote ‘yes’ for Upper Scioto Valley EMS

As the retired EMS Chief of USV EMS and current member of USV EMS, my wife and I would like to strongly encourage everyone to please vote yes for USV EMS in the upcoming May election!

My wife and I are celebrating 30 years on the department and have seen many changes in EMS. Our extremely busy emergency medical service department provides pre-hospital medical care when you call 911. Our team is a very dedicated group of EMS professionals. With more than 500 EMS calls and special events each year, we have grown to a capacity that we need 24-hour coverage, seven days a week.

With this tax levy, we will be able to do many things. When you call 911, we want to ensure that we have coverage.

Our area is Alger, Roundhead, McGuffey and the outlying areas. We also want to ensure we continue to have state-of-the-art ambulances, medical equipment and, most of all, personnel when the need arises. Our department is very involved not

only in the community but at Upper Scioto Valley Local Schools.

EMS has been a part of my family for many generations. We really appreciate all of the support we have received over the years. Now, we need everyone’s support to ensure we continue and are able to provide this much-needed service when you call 911. Please feel free to stop by our central station in Alger or visit our USV Ambulance District Facebook page for the latest in EMS.

If you have questions or comments, our EMS Chief Aunee Helton would be glad to answer them. We need your vote, so please vote yes for USV EMS!
