Letter: Someone should step up for honors at funerals

We buried my brother earlier this month. He was an Army combat veteran in Vietnam with the Rangers (Big Red One).

I was disappointed that the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 could not honor him with a 21-gun salute and “Taps.” their veterans are getting too old, and no one is there to take their places. We did have a recording of “Taps,” but it’s not very touching.

My brother and many others suffered and suffer from Agent Orange. My question is this: Who is going to honor those to come who pass away? They deserve honor. Does anyone have an answer for me?
