Letter: Nothing new with slow payments from Medicaid

Reading the story about caregivers waiting for pay from Medicaid brought back many memories — none good.

In the summer of 1985, I got a nursing job for a Medicaid patient. I wasn’t paid either. I received weekly packets of Medicaid changes. When I submitted my pay voucher, I received it back with a letter that it was not completed correctly, with another packet of changes.

This went on for five and a half months. I wrote lawyers, my state representative and state senator. Nobody would help me. I finally received my pay in full after I quit the job.

I would never recommend working for Medicaid.
