First off let me say what an honor and privilege it was for me to see Honor Flight off on Monday, June 6.
I am appalled that the Veterans of Foreign Wars local post would not allow the veterans to utilize the canteen for their meal and send-off on Monday. Unless I’m totally wrong, the VFW should certainly be serving the local veterans in this area. That is the intent of the VFW. If they refuse to do that, then I’m not sure what purpose they serve in this community.
They have begun a Bingo on Mondays and Wednesdays for financial support. However, if they can’t serve the veterans of this community, I am not sure what they may need financial support for. I, for one, will not support the organization and hope others get the real truth from the VFW.
I am a proud American and supporter of all veterans, as my father fought in Korea.
