There can be little arguement that many nations of the world (including the U.S.) are no longer living according to the Bible.
Is God unhappy with this state of affairs? There can be no doubt, but thankfully we have a loving and forgiving Heavenly Father.
Recent archaelogical discoveries in the deserts near Israel (The Lima News, March 17) makes one wonder if the Lord is providing additional evidence of Scriptural reliability. The “Dead Sea Scrolls,” in Qumron’s dry caves in the 1940’s contain nearly the complete Hebrew text of the Book of Isaiah. The latest finds, written in Greek, include parts of Zechariah and Nahum. Could it be possible that some fragments of Noah’s Ark, supposedly frozen in a glacier on Mount Aaarat, could be the next revelation for those skeptical of the veracity of Scripture?
There have been numerous sightings, perhaps the most spectacular by a Russian aviator in 1915. More recently a French amateur archaeologist, Fernand Navarra, who with his 12-year-old son in 1952 climbed to the 14,000 foot level of the mountain and brought back four, one-foot sections of hewn timber. It was carbon-dated to about the proper date. Navarra then made subsequent and even more revealing attempts in 1953, ‘59, and ‘69. I personally believe that significant portions of the ship are still there, in “cold storage” for a mainly disbelieving world.
