Letter: Christmas joy, Encore style

Imagine if some of the characters in “Twas the Night Before Christmas” came to life. From a mouse that is most definitely stirring to the big man in red himself, that is exactly what is happening the weekend of Dec. 18th at Encore Theatre.

Now, imagine if instead of it being a kid’s show, that the majority of the characters are adults that play to the hilarity of every topic from Midwest stereotypes to mistaken identities to mistakes on the Naughty & Nice List that lead to everything from depression to devious dealings.

The show is kid friendly, with enough hijinks to keep younger ages entertained, and enough humor and wit, along with great acting, to please the most sophisticated theatrical connoisseur.

The show lasts about 60 minutes with no intermission and only 42 attendees allowed per viewing in a theatre that seats over 280 to allow for social distancing. Masks are required at all times and the first two rows will be left empty so that the actors do not get close to the audience.

If interested, call the theatre at 419-223-8866 and leave a message with your name, phone number, and desired number of tickets and you will get a call back regarding what nights are still available for the number of tickets you need. (This system is in place due to cost reductions forced by COVID). You can also find the theatre online at amiltellers.org and either option accepts credit cards.

Happy Holidays to you and your families!

Jim Patton,

Elida
