We have all, at some point, been in the uncomfortable position of watching a child lying on the floor in aisle No. 3 kicking and screaming because he can’t reach the much desired “Baby Ruth” candy bar.
We watch in horror as mom finally relents to those unbecoming demands of that young one and rewards her child with the desired prize.
As we frown at the behavior of both mother and child, our ears are at least relieved of the witnessed spectacle. We look and wonder about this child who will be growing in an environment in which he never hears the word “no.” Would he grow to be a man that feels an entitlement to physically abuse women or perhaps lie and cheat his way to reach the pinnacle of life’s successes, maybe even deceive enough souls to reach the most influential position in the free world?
Reaching that pinnacle is hardly possible without the aid of lifelong enablers who have supported and defended his every action including friends, associates, family members, and most assuredly, people in the Congress of the United States of America.
When the people of this nation said no on Nov. 3 to Donald Trump, we have been forced to witness once again that child on the floor in aisle No. 3 kicking and screaming for that “Baby Ruth” candy bar. If any good can come from this , it is my hope that all those enablers will remember when he said, “It is what it is” and finally see that he is what he is.
