Letter: Variety of opinions make the world turn

This is in response to Jim Krumel’s column in Monday’s paper. As a professional librarian (retired), I respect the Opinion page of The Lima News.

I agree with some opinions, and others make me furious. However, Freedom of the Press is what they represent. If you do not care for an opinion, skip it! I skip several.

Even those I read regularly sometimes challenge my thinking. Is that not what others’ opinions should do? Have you never changed your mind about an issue based on someone else’s information?

Instead of looking only for opinions that support your beliefs, remember that one of our country’s greatest freedoms is Freedom of the Press. The country would be a boring place if we all agreed on everything.
