Congress is totally dysfunctional. They don’t know the meaning of compromise and doing what’s needed in times of disaster like the pandemic and health coverage.
It’s time we removed them. That means term limits. But we all know Congress won’t enact term limits; it’s their very nature to want to stay in power.
We, the people, need to do our part in forcing term limits. If a senator or representative has been in office for two terms for a senator, three for the House, he/she has to go. Period. If it means switching your party to do that, get ‘er done. I don’t care if it’s a Republican or a Democrat, two/three terms, and you’re out. It’s time to act, to shake things up, to get more done!
If you are really on board with this, then we all need to pledge to vote against people like Jim Jordan, Bob Latta, Nancy Pelosi, Rob Portman, Chuck Schumer, Sherrod Brown, Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, and on and on.
All these career politicians need to go, and we need to elect fresh faces with new ideas. If we don’t make these changes, we’ll continue down the road we’re on, congressional gridlock.
If congressmen know they can only serve a limited number of terms, they might actually work harder for us and spend less time trying to raise money to get re-elected.
Gerrymandering would be pointless, since after the limited number of terms, we would be switching candidates anyway.
It’s time to make changes, elect someone new, step out of our comfort zone.
