Please put your swagger away and put on your mask.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (1 Corinthians 13:11-12)
In 1974, when I was 18 years old, I went to work in a local factory. Ear plugs were available but not required. The inference was you can have them if you are a wimp. Well I was not a wimp, so I did not use them. Sometimes, after leaving a work shift, it was 45 to 50 minutes before I could hear anything. The factory job only lasted a few months, and hearing protection is required there now. Today I only have a little bit of hearing loss.
I went on to a career in construction. I used many stupid unsafe methods and sometime paid the price for those actions.
I retired and continued a few unsafe methods and of course sometimes paid the price for those actions.
Finally, I hope that I have grown up, because now when I go out in close quarters in public — I wear a mask.
Listen to the medical and safety experts.
Protect our country.
Put your childish ways aside, be responsible, wear a mask.
