Letter: Here’s the number to telephone railroad

When living in Cridersville and traveling north on Shawnee Road past Apollo Career Center and the U.S. Army Reserve building, we have encountered the railroad track that shatters our smooth ride. This Norfolk Southern track seems to be used very little by just an engine a few cars the past four years we have lived in this area.

Now the pavement between the rails have developed potholes that have a tendency to make it a tempestuous violent ride across the rails.

When I brought this up with an employee of Norfolk Southern, he pointed to a blue sign on a pole on the north side of the rails. It basically told someone to call in to the rail company to complain. When there are many complaints, the rail company will do a repair as they have done in many areas in and around Lima.

The blue sign also has this number: #476-914p, which is the iden1ification code of the area of the rail crossing. The blue sign tells you to call 800-946-4744, where Brittany will answer and tells you to call 260-493-5300 t0 complain.

The people using Shawnee Road need to call this number if they want a smooth ride.

We are tired of a railroad track that shatters our smooth ride. Those in charge of it need to smooth it out.
