In spite of all the evidence to the contrary, the GOP citizenry in the area still delude themselves into believing that Trump is the best thing since sliced bread, and Jim Jordan couldn’t do a better job if he was able to defecate gold bricks. It is beyond belief how people can be so brain-washed into seeing evidence and coming up with the opposite conclusion of what the evidence shows.
Of course, these seem to be the same people that don’t understand how our government works and how fragile democracy is and thought it would be a good idea to give someone with zero government experience the keys to the White House. We should all be able to see what a fiasco that has turned out to be, but that isn’t happening due to the brain-washing alluded to previously.
What is really frightening is how the GOP reps and their local followers, who were so rabidly anti-communist for decades, could now look at the evidence that shows beyond question that the Putin regime meddled in our 2016 presidential election and still think that it’s no big deal; and in response continue to spend our tax dollars on more of the same frivolous investigations that have already been proven to have no merit.
This is the fragility of Republican democracy mentioned above, and it’s also what was said by the GOP’s Patron Saint, Ronald Reagan, when he was president. But that’s history, and Mr. Trump and his fact-ignoring voters have all shown such a revulsion to paying attention to the past that they are all willing to watch the country they claim to love go down in flames under his inept leadership, with the GOP leaders marching in lock-step behind Trump right into the dumpster fire.
