Letter: Put the children of America first, now

I’m asking Rep. Jim Jordan to please work with his Senate counterpart, stand together, and demand that the Senate takes time to fund the CHIP program, again.

I have friends and family that will be losing health insurance for their children. This cannot wait. I know taxes is the big topic right now, but we will be fine by pausing that work for a minute. CHIP funding has already stopped, and we will quickly be leaving millions of children left without insurance, and their parents will not be able to afford the care that entails critical, live-saving, treatments.

It is so incredibly important that we address this now. I have sent Congress many letters within the last several weeks, and they may find me to be a bit of a pain. But, I’m willing to be a pain, to stand up for those who need help. For those who need a voice to speak up for them. For those who don’t have adequate access to reach out to their representatives. For those who are so wrapped up in the hospitals, right now, they don’t have the time or energy to reach out. I feel that it is a part of my civic duty, to stand up for those who need programs, like CHIP.

I beg you, please, take a few days and demand that CHIP be funded again. This never used to be a partisan issue, and it shouldn’t be now.

Put the children of America first, now.
