Letter: Cutting The Cord Is Not The Answer

Several weeks ago, I announced that I was declaring war on cable TV. Since then I’ve been getting organized, now I’m solid. My hub is on Facebook at “Cable-TV-War.”

At issue is the price of cable TV and internet. The rest of the world pays about 25- to 35-percent of what we do. That’s because of corporate greed and the fact that our elected representatives allow it.

Some people’s response is to cut the cord. But that leaves them with no entertainment or a hodge-podge of streaming services that provide no educational value and very little entertainment value.

So, cutting the cord is not the answer. Besides, if enough people cut the cord, they will just jack-up internet prices. The answer is increased competition and decreased regulation.

Please join me and our group. We can fix this.
