Wow!
The left’s true beliefs about freedom of speech are summed up in the Chicago Tribune editorial of Aug 18th, reprinted in The Lima News, Aug 22: “Their presence instigated the violence by espousing views that contradict everything America represents.”
There couldn’t be a more un-American, unconstitutional statement then that.
The whole point of free speech is to be able to espouse whatever view one may have without violence. We all know the common sense limitations. We tolerate flag burning and kneeling for the Star Spangled banner etc. The problem is who gets to decide what is tolerable? By their logic it would be OK to throw rocks through the Chicago Tribune’s windows because someone or group designates their “views” as contradicting American values.
