Letter: GOP hurt by Freedom Caucus

Jim Jordan and the Freedom Caucus have given us Obamacare “for the foreseeable future” and allowed Nancy Pelosi to get the opportunity to call President Trump a “rookie” and Democrats to celebrate the failure of the American Health Act. Soon they will also give us a Democratic House of Representatives, the Senate and President Elizabeth Warren. I hope Jordan and the Freedom Caucus are willing to accept this resulting burden.

The Freedom Caucus will also give us another four years of inaction in Congress (making it 12 years of inaction all caused by Republicans) and disable the new President. The Freedom Caucus thinks the American people are behind them in this, but I think not. Pollsters who ask questions to voters can phrase a question so that they get the desired answer. I think if the question was asked “Do you want the new Republican House and Senate to govern so that some if not all of the problems in the USA are solved?” the answer would be a resounding “Yes.”

So, those of us who suffered through all the protests turning into riots, the continuing hatred and vitriol of the left and the biased news reporting with the hope for a new spirit in our country will have suffered for naught. The hope and positive feeling for the country that was evident after the election has been dashed thanks to a few ideological Republicans who would rather lose than negotiate. I agree with President Trump. They are behaving like spoiled fifth graders.
