Letter: North Middle School alumni event special

Wednesday, March 29, 2017, my wife and I had the opportunity and honor to be guests of Lima North Middle School. The event was an alumni luncheon.

My wife and several others including the chief of police and two deputies (about 20 total) were there. All proud alumni of North Middle School. The attendees included a graduate of Lima Senior 1973 (the first class to attend North Junior High) through a young man from the class of 2014.

The memories and stories were great. The bond between these individuals (I have also been witness to this at Lima Senior reunions) is a beautiful amazing thing.

My wife, Marsha, is a proud graduate of Lima Senior class of 1974. That class was represented well this day by four diverse individuals.

We would all like to thank Tina Roberts, Principal Stewart, and the staff for this opportunity. The students were all polite and great to see. We did not find an underperforming school as some try to make it out to be but a public school functioning as it should Educating our young and ensuring our futu7re will be sound. Thanks so much. We hope this will become a regular function. We urge all to support your local schools and your community at large.
