Letter: Climate change means change for Ohio.

With climate change, Ohio will see more extreme heat, heavy downpours and flooding, according to the National Climate Assessment.

None of that is good news for agriculture, infrastructure, and private property.

Around the world, companies and governments are preparing for the reality of climate change. Yet, President Trump has nominated Cabinet officials who refuse to recognize climate change: in particular, Scott Pruitt for EPA.

If our government doesn’t recognize reality, Ohioans will not have the information and assistance that they need to adapt to a changed world.

Ohio senators Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown are our voice in the Cabinet official confirmation process. They must demand Cabinet officials who respect science and seek to be proactive. And we must tell them how important their voices are – for Ohio’s future.
