Failure to reference Heartbeat of Lima in my original letter (Lima News 1/16/17) was a glaring oversight. It was only in re-reading my letter after it had already been submitted that the omission occurred to me. For that, I apologize. Two recent letters in particular describe the variety of services offered by Heart Beat in their efforts to be compassionately present to women contemplating an abortion.
That being said, I would still stand by my original suggestion for the coalition as described. Such a coalition could both coordinate its efforts with Heart Beat and be an additional resource in support of its efforts. Such a coalition, of course, would also be very helpful in areas where agencies like Heart Beat might not be available.
