Letter: Allen East happy for SADD

High school is a time when young people learn and experience many new things. As they experience new freedoms and new choices, one of the most important things they learn is how to make decisions. How they navigate these new decisions can have a major impact on the rest of their lives.

At Allen East we are fortunate to have a very active chapter of SADD. ( Students Against Destructive Decisions ). This group of 25 students is led by Kelly Prichard, one of our dedicated and caring teachers. The energy and devotion Ms. Prichard puts into this group is truly inspiring. The students in this group have shown their strong character as they have encouraged other students to make good decisions.

The SADD chapter of Allen East was recently chosen, out of 10,000 chapters, as the top SADD chapter in the nation. To be chosen as the best, in this great and vast nation, is an incredible honor. In addition to being chosen as the best group in the nation, they also received second place in the nation for their “Parents on Our Side” event.

To Ms. Prichard and SADD participants, thank you all for making a positive difference in the lives of Allen East students.
