I had the honor and privilege to participate in the judging of the senior portfolios last week at Lima Senior High School.
Members of our Altrusa International Inc. organization and other local residents volunteered their time to listen to the seniors describe their experiences at LSH and their goals for the future.
We were so impressed with the preparation that these students put into their slideshow presentations and the portfolio books. Each student had about 10 minutes to deliver his or her presentation and answer questions from the judges. I praise the teachers who have assisted, guided and prepared these students to go out into the world and accomplish their goals.
Although everyone who presented to my team did an excellent job, I do have to give kudos to the DECA teachers and program at Lima Senior. These students were exceptionally prepared and very comfortable in front of the judges.
Too often we hear negatives about the students at LSH. I think other judges will agree with me: Lima Senior High School students are awesome. I wish all the graduating seniors the very best and I know they will continue to make our community proud.
