Letter: Technical foul on broadcast

When it comes to high school basketball coverage in this area, all of us are blessed and spoiled. With all of the radio stations that we have along with WTLW and WOSN, we should be thankful of what we have and that we all take for granted. Nowhere in this great state of Ohio has the coverage like we have.

So, with those blessings notwithstanding, why is it that on Friday, Feb. 3, 1984, Centel Cable channel 4 was able to broadcast live the Lima Sr. vs Middletown game with William White and pro football Hall of Famer Cris Carter on the floor but on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, WOSN couldn’t pull it off even though the technology is supposed to be better than 1984?

Beats me. Centel did it without a hitch. Maybe there is credence to the reliable, tried and true being better than the 21st century junk we have to deal with now.

WOSN and WTLW do an outstanding job. Keep up the good work, but you dropped the ball on this one. Hopefully if you do a live game again, you’ll learn from this experience.
