Letter: Life is a list of achievements

As I was wheeling myself around this morning at the nursing home rehabilitation center that am currently at, Lost Creek, I started to thing about the fact that this was really winding up for me and that there was going to be some changes in my life again. I was going to have to become focused on those changes and make sure that with a new living environment that there was also the facilities available and in place for me to live both comfortable and save.

Going to mom’s room, I also thought about those who would be seeing this as a permanent residence and the reality that my mother would always be living on Burgess Avenue which is a road on the west side of Columbus. I felt very grateful that she was at a place that did their best to bring heath minded services and the volunteers who brought a piece of life to her daily life. I also knew my responsibility was put into place of visiting mom on a regular basis.

We are all given lessons in life. Those lessons may not always be what we were looking for but this does not mean that we are not required to take on these tasks. We will find that the rewards so outweigh the unwillingness of accomplishing these lessons. Life is a list of achievements and accomplishments and I have found that out in my handicapped state. What I have also found out is my thankfulness for what has been given me and especially this time of year when thankfulness is the trend.
