Letter: EMS squads should offer equal care

On March 13, 2022, my husband collapsed at a friend’s place in Delphos. The rescue squad refused to take his vitals unless he got into the squad vehicle.

I took him in. They found lung cancer.

He collapsed again this Jan 13th in Spencerville. Their squad was awesome. They took his vitals — twice — and even offered to load him in my car! He passed away just over a month later from his heart.

I feel sorry for the residents of Delphos. I’ve heard from a friend who lives there that a neighbor thought she was having a stroke. They wanted her to walk out and get into the squad vehicle before they would help her.

I really wish someone would investigate this before someone suffers badly because of this.
