Letter: ‘Right to life’ for your baby

I was so magnificent made, Mom said.

I’m just not tissue, but flesh and blood.

I’m alive.

I have a heartbeat.

I heard you saying we are going to the hospital

To see if I’m all right

And take a picture to see if I’m a boy or girl.

Exciting isn’t it?

Listen Mom,

I can hear your quiet voice.

I’m in here alone, sucking my thumb,

Swimming and doing somersaults.

Will you read me a story?

That would be great.

Just think we laugh, cry, eat, sleep and go places together,

We’re like two peas in a pod.

How about that? Isn’t it wonderful?

I’m in your womb, waiting for birth.

I can’t wait to get out to see you.

You can feel me stretching around, kicking, and punching your stomach.

Keeping you up some nights.

But I’m worth it all.

It will be all right mom.

I’ll see you when I get out.

Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.”
