LIMA — Allen County Common Pleas Court Judges Terri Kohlrieser and Jeffrey Reed held 10 people in contempt for failing to show up for jury duty recently.

LIMA — The Ohio Department of Commerce has announced an increase in the minimum wage. The change is set to go into effect on Jan 1. For non-tipped employees, the minimum wage will increase from $9.30 to $10.10 per hour. For tipped employees, the minimum wage will increase from $4.65. This change will impact companies with annual revenue of more than $342,000 per year.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio State Board of Education announced the resolution to recommend the use of ARPA funds to provide free meals to students. The Hunger-Free Schools Coalition commended the Ohio State Board of Education for passing the resolution. In the 2021-2022 school year, reportedly 90,443,684 breakfast meals were served to children under free waivers in Ohio. The number of free meals provided was higher than pre-COVID. The previous waiver for students expired in June.
