WAPAKONETA — Auglaize and Mercer County families can now apply to the Home Weatherization Assistance Program to lower energy costs.
Free services include health and safety testing and inspections; heating system repairs or replacements; reduction of air leakage from chimneys, walls, attics, floors, water tanks, basement insulation and other major sources.
Only families who are at or below 200% of federal poverty level are eligible for the program, which is provided by the West Ohio Community Action Partnership and Miami Valley Community Action Partnership.
Renters must have property owner approval to participate.
Bring your most recent utility bills; a list of all household members, including birth dates and Social Security numbers; proof of income from the past 90 days for all household members; proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency for all household members; and proof of ownership, if applicable.
