Agency: Emergency sirens shouldn’t have been activated

LIMA — Emergency sirens inadvertently sounded at 1:11 p.m. Friday, the Allen County Office of Homeland Security Emergency Management acknowledged.

“There was no weather or community emergency,” according to a press release from the agency. “We apologize for the confusion.”

Allen County has 50 community warning sirens, which are typically tested at noon on the first Wednesday of the month.
