This week’s updates on the coronavirus pandemic

• Twenty-five residents and 10 employees at the Meadows of Delphos nursing home tested positive for COVID-19 in the last week, one of several active nursing home outbreaks in the region, the Ohio Department of Health reported Thursday.

Other active cases include: six residents and three employees at Mennonite Memorial Home; nine residents and four employees at Meadows of Ottawa; one resident and seven staffers at Meadows of Kalida; three residents at Liberty Retirement Community; one resident and one staffer at Lima Convalescent Home; one resident and one staffer at Lochhaven; one employee at Primrose Retirement Community; three residents at Springview Manor; one resident at the Gardens of Wapakoneta; eight residents at Heritage Center for Rehab & Specialty Care; one employee at Otterbein-Cridersville; two residents at Vancrest-St. Marys; two residents and one employee at Autumn Court; three residents and one employee at Hilty Memorial Home; one employee at Meadows of Leipsic; and two employees at Putnam Heritage, according to ODH.

• A new report found that COVID-19 contributed to a quarter of all maternal deaths recorded in 2020 and 2021, according to an analysis of CDC mortality data released by the non-partisan U.S. Government Accountability Office on Wednesday.

• Allen County Public Health will continue offering updated COVID-19 boosters and influenza vaccines at its off-site immunization clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays at Clock Tower Plaza, 927 N. Cable Road, Lima, in suites 195 and 200, through Friday, Dec. 30.

• There were zero additional deaths attributed to COVID-19 reported in the five-county region in the last seven days, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
