Columbus Grove schools’ income tax renewal headed to voters

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove schools will ask voters to renew a 0.75% income tax for the district’s general fund in November.

The levy generated an estimated $1.3 million last year for the school district’s general fund, which supports district operations and permanent improvements.

“This levy is particularly critical since the district does not have a permanent improvement levy on the books to pay for items such as new technology, buses and equipment, as many other districts have,” Superintendent Nick Verhoff said via email Wednesday.

Voters have renewed the income tax levy five times since it was first adopted in 1995.
