LIMA — The cause of an early-morning fire that destroyed a vacant house in Lima on Friday remains under investigation, authorities say.
A spokesman for the Lima Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched at 12:30 a.m. Friday to 402 N. Pine St. in response to a residential fire. Upon arrival, firemen found heavy flames showing from the rear of the structure, which they quickly learned was vacant.
Damage was estimated at $33,700, and the building, owned by Mary Owens, was deemed a total loss.
