LIMA — A special tribute was given to the late Jeffrey A. Hawk, and various individuals and businesses were honored during the Ovation ceremony Thursday for their philanthropic gifts provided to the Lima Memorial Foundation.
Dr. Robert and Connie Baker, Dr. Venkat and Sandhya Battula, Emergency Physicians of Northwest Ohio, Dr. Pamela Gardner, Eric and Marlena Schaaf, Bruce and Dr. Susan Kaufman, Rea & Associates, Rhodes State College, Todd and Lynn Schub, Bob and Michele McPheron, and United Collection Bureau received the Alice Henderson Award for gifts amounting to $25,000 or more.
Holy Spirit Community Corporation, Lima Memorial Medical Staff, Marshall and Melhorn, Dr. Ronald and Ann Pohl, Shutt Family, Smith- Boughan Mechanical Services and William C. Timmermeister won Chairman Awards for contributing gifts of $100,000 or more.
Tuttle Construction won the Cora Davies Award for the companies donation of $250,000 or more to the Lima Memorial Foundation.
Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary received the Emerald Award for their contribution of $1 million or more to the Lima Memorial Foundation.
Lima Pallet Co. won the Infinity Award because of its continual commitment to Lima Memorial.
Dr. Pamela Gardner won the Ambassador of the Year award for enthusiastically devoting her time, energy and resources to further the mission of the Lima Memorial Foundation.
“Through the donations over the years we have been able to bring advanced medical technology to Lima for our physicians and staff to help take care the people of the community,” said Scott Shutt, Lima Memorial Board chairman. “Without the support of these contributors some of this may not be possible.”
Hawk, who was the chairman of American Trim, small business owner and at one point a Lima Memorial patient, was also recognized Thursday night for this philanthropy to the Lima Memorial and the community.
Over the years Hawk was known in the community for dedicating his life to his faith, family, business and community, and was a principled leader, mentor, and always did the right thing, according to a Lima Memorial news release.
“He really believed in the Lima Memorial Healthcare system and making sure that there was a strong community that had good quality people and services for the community health care needs,” said Jan Hawk, Jeffrey’s wife.
