LIMA — Helen Dunahay Thomas is celebrating her 90th birthday. A card shower would be appreciated, mailed to 102 E. North St., Elida, OH 45807. You may also join us in a celebration at the Elk Lodge Dining Room at 302 W. North St., Lima, from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 11.
Thomas was born on December 15, 1932, in Lima, Ohio, to Orville and Annabelle Dunahay. In June 1950, she married William R. Thomas, who died in February 1989.
She has four children: Deb VanBuskirk, of Elida; Tom (Barb) Thomas, of Elida; Sharon Chapman, of Casper, WY; and Robert Thomas, of Lima. She also has 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Thomas is still active after 70 years at Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren. She is a retired teacher from the Gomer/Elida School System. She also volunteers at Our Daily Bread.
